Claire và Pierre là những người văn minh, hơi cao tuổi, sống trong biệt thự xinh xắn bên hồ bơi trong khu phố đẹp của họ. Claire là một bà nội trợ trọn đời, Pierre là một đại lý bảo hiểm fin-de-carrière. Tất cả đều tốt cho đến khi ... hàng xóm mới đến. Hoàn toàn bình phục sau sự di chuyển của những người bạn tốt và những người hàng xóm cũ của họ (những người đã di cư gần đây đến thiên đường đầy nắng của miền Nam nước Pháp), giờ họ phải đối mặt với cơn ác mộng tồi tệ nhất của họ trở thành sự thật: Hilda và (Fran) çois, hàng xóm từ địa ngục. Các chuyến thăm không mong muốn, các bữa tiệc ồn ào, thiếu cách cư xử ... .Địa ngục trần gian. mang một ý nghĩa hoàn toàn khác. Nhưng mọi thứ dường như nhìn lên: một người môi giới giàu có đưa ra lời đề nghị rất hào phóng về nhà của họ. Pierre rất muốn chấp nhận và tự mình đến Pháp, nhưng Claire, người đối phó với toàn bộ tình huống rất tốt, nói .không. và đứng trước điều này một lần. Kết thúc câu chuyện? Không hẳn. Pierre quyết định đi xuống với một cuộc chiến. Nhưng nó không kết thúc cho đến khi nó kết thúc.

Claire and Pierre are nice civilised, slightly elderly people, living in their nice pool-lined-villa in their nice neighbourhood. Claire is a lifelong housewife, Pierre is a fin-de-carrière insurance agent. All is well untill... the new neighbours arrive. Barely recovered from the move of their good friends and former neighbours (who have emigrated recently to the sunny paradise of Southern France) they now have to face their worst nightmare come true: Hilda and (Fran)çois, neighbours from hell. Unwanted visits, loud parties, a total lack in manners... .Hell On Earth. gets a total different meaning. But things seem to look up: a wealthy realtor makes a very generous offer on their home. Pierre is eager to accept and head out for France himself but Claire, who deals with the whole situation remarkably well, says .no. and stands her ground this once. End of story? Not quite. Pierre decides to go down with a fight. But it ain.t over till it.s over.
